Smt. Rajashri Shrikant Jichkar

A well-known youth leader of Vidarbha, Smt. Rajashri Shrikant Jichkar was born on June 11, 1967 at Akola. She has an exceptional academic record since her school days. A qualified architect from Amravati University, she got married in 1989 to one of the most promising and outstanding personality of the era, Dr. Shrikant Jichkar, who was highly educated and well versed with all the fields of knowledge. He was known as gentle politician and was a prominent national leader. Smt. Rajashri has always stood behind her husband helping him in all his political, social, religious and other activities.

When she got married to Dr. Shrikant Jichkar, he took up the Agnihotra, which is a duty of every householder. Then he did all the further rituals upto the first Somayaga and he was thus a Somayaji, Ahitagni & a Dixita. In all this, she was his equal partner without whom he would not have been eligible to do any of these.

Since long, she has been associated with various social, religious, cultural organisations. She has been a source of inspiration to many with her able qualities of management and independence. Along with Dr. Jichkar, she has also worked for relief of malnutrition victims of Melghat, in Amravati district, participated actively in arranging mass marriage ceremonies, AIDS awareness camps, blood donation camps etc. She is the president of Dr. Shrikant Jichkar Foundation, a NGO working for poor and needy sections of society.

She is heading the activities of Dr. Shrikant Jichkar Memorial Arsha Vijnana Gurukulam, a center of learning of the  Vedas, Sanskrit & Vedanta and all allied subjects.

After the demise of her husband Dr. Jichkar in June 2004, she has ably carried out the work of publishing the first ever Almanac in Marathi, ‘Vishwakosh Varshiki 2005’, a dream project of Dr. Jichkar, who was the then president of Maharashtra State Marathi Encyclopaedia Production Board.

She is also the President of Dr. Shrikant Jichkar foundation – leading a young brigade of thousands of active members (enrolled in a short span of time). She is the President of CIRFSEPA – Central India Research Foundation for Socio-Economic & Political Affairs. She is the Member of the Amateur Radio – Crucial role played in Disaster Management & dissemination of information. She is the President of Sandipani School, one of the esteemed educational institutions in Nagpur. She is an Agriculturist, qualified Architect, painter, social worker and possess exceptional management skills, good organizer.
